THE STORY
WhisperField was born from a love of cosy games — I wanted to build something that felt warm, magical and handcrafted. The mushroom world aesthetic came first; everything else was designed around it.
The title screen was hand-illustrated — the scattered mushrooms, the cursive logo and the animated loading dots were all created as original assets, then integrated into Unity as UI elements with scripted animations.
The deep navy and purple palette gives the world a twilight feel — active enough to feel alive, dark enough to feel mysterious. Every UI element uses a soft glow to tie into the magical theme.
Built in Unity with C#, the loading system uses async scene loading with a custom progress tracker. The title screen loop runs as a standalone animated sequence before the main menu fades in.
